Things I Like: Anu’s Renovated Modern Dollhouse
I discovered Anu on Instagram when I happened upon a photo of what I thought was her home.
After a quick double-tap, it took me a few finger-scrolls to realize that — unless human-sized stuffed chipmunks exist — the home was actually a miniature dollhouse, a project she’s been working on and sharing via the hashtag #LittleModernFarmHouse.
After visiting her blog to see more of this mini-home, I was led down a rabbit hole of dollhouse heaven. I discovered some friends of hers (Cassie, Alice and Emy) doing the same thing and sharing their progress through what they named the Dollhouse Therapy challenge. I had no idea adult-made and renovated dollhouses were a thing, but it’s definitely a thing I can get behind.

Outfitted in what looks like a Carrera marble waterfall countertop, with Scandinavian-inspired details, open shelving above a hexagon backsplash, and a trendy mind-coloured Smeg fridge, this isn’t your average dollhouse: it’s been renovated with the type of furniture and finishes you’d expect to find at your favorite home store or trendy retailer.
I may not have the kind of time on my hands required to take on my own dollhouse, but until then, I have Anu’s Little Modern Farmhouse to enjoy and glean inspiration from. What an awesome project!
And check out Anu’s blog, Nalle’s House for more Scandi-inspiration and a closer look at her life.
