A Moody Blue Bedroom

I’m holding out for a new house before investing in a new bed.

It’s a silly moment to stand my ground, but while our mattress game sucks — a popped coil digs into my back, and our foam topper pad is half-gone from when Piper ate chunks of it as a puppy in a fit of defiance — I down-right refuse to buy a new queen mattress.

The moment we leave this house for another, the first thing I’m going to do is buy a king bed — no ifs, ands, or buts — so I don’t want to compromise and waste money on a temporary fix. I’d much rather cry myself to sleep (joking) than buy a replacement mattress.

This doesn’t, however, stop me from dreaming (literally and figuratively) of the day when we get to design a new bedroom. And, at the moment, I think I’d like it to look something like the bedroom in this gorgeous Bulgarian apartment by designer PS Architects.

I adore the wood platform bed — which brings warmth to the otherwise modern, cold space — and the pale, mismatched linen sheets, pillows and bedding are a dream. If you, too, love this look, shop some similar pieces below.
