Food Sector Infographic

On a hot Monday afternoon, I was handed a 40-page report on Toronto & the CMA of Toronto’s Food Sector, based on data from 2010.
I know this sounds like a snore-fest to read, but it truly wasn’t! As someone interested in food – especially local -, health, and the community,
I found it quite fascinating to read.

At my desk at Hypenotic, I read through it and pulled out information that could possibly have some shock factor.
After filling a few pages of a notebook with messy scrawled writing and facts, I opened up good, old trusty
Adobe Illustrator and began plugging away, trying to make this data come to life visually.

Barry and I found what “stuck” the most were the correlations between the food and the auto sector,
and so I ran with that, trying to make the poster as “sticky” and memorable as possible.
